Who has the 9 1/4" wire posts for the Shooting Chrony in the North Texas area? I need to pick some up ASAP. Thanks.

Go to the hardware store and buy a 1/8" wooden dowel rod and trim it to size. It is a good expedient that can be permanent as well. Less damage if you should hit one too. No I didn't do it, but a friend did!

You can also use brass or steel rods available at the hardware store. If you need couplers, use clear "Tygon" or heavy wall plastic tubing.

Store the steel rods in the box and substitute 1/8th inch diameter dowels. Wrap them with a piece of tape 4 inches over the instrument to help align the bore and avoid killing the chronograph.

+1 For wooden dowels. I didnt shoot my metal rods, but 1 section fell out of my box and was lost for a while. I started using a wood dowel and I like it better than a metal rod. Also, If I should ever hit one it will just break off and not damage the unit.

Any broken cleaning rods? As long as you aren't replacing the chrony rod that has the butt connector, the three piece cleaning rod will work.
