I'm in the process of making a Vector V51 into a short barrel. They ask for the measurments of the gun. When they ask for total length are they asking for the length it is now, or the length with the stock? I figure they mean with the stock, but then is it with the stock open, or closed?

Edit: No I don't have the stock.

They want the length with the stock extended.  Obviously, until you've got the Form 1 in hand, you can't put it into the SBR configuration, even to measure it.  So, what do you do?  If you ask around here, certainly someone has one already and they can give you a length.  Or, you can google "Vector V51" and using their rifle length measurement, subtract the difference between the length of the listed barrel and the length of the barrel you intend to run.  Or, you can guesstimate for the Form 1 and once you get it built and properly measured, if it's not the same as the Form 1, you can send BATFE a letter to modify the registration.

Also, you have a fixed stock, collapsible and folder that are probably all different lengths.  I have a V51 pistol also and it's going to need a stock one of these days.
