Trade my FNC and FN FAL (presample) for a M16 of some sort?  Love both guns but would like to use my Blackout upper or Shrike.  I already own an uzi to satisfy my subgun itch.  Just not sure if I will kick my own ass down the road!!  Tough decision.

Personally, I would, m16 is the most versatile platform by far.

You will kick your ass on down the road. You'll look back and think "Damn, I wish I'd kept that FAL". If you can find any other way to get an M16 then do it.

Do it.  The M16 is THE gun to have as far as machine guns go IMO.  Only thing above it in my opinion is a Colt Thompson.

It will rise in value faster, it has more parts available, and it is THE American gun to own.

Is there any way you can save the necessary funds to buy a '16 outright? Maybe sell of extraneous title-1 firearms. No way would I let a pre sample FAL leave my collection. At most I  would consider selling the FNC to help partially fund an M16, as an M16 beats the FNC in all respects as a civilian-owned shooter.

If I could only own two transferable MGs, they would be an Uzi and an M16.

Oh, wait! I already do! And I've sold off the rest. Miss some more than others, but I'm still glad I did.

I thought presamples were not part of "collections" :)

No HK sear over the Uzi?

Nah. I'm either cheap, or poor, or both ... grew up with M16s but not many submachine guns; started collecting subguns when they were $1-3k, and only fell in love with the Uzi. It's just the Energizer Bunny of sub guns, and always runs -- in 9mm, .45ACP and even .22RF. Sold off the rest for stupid money when I got tired of tinkering with them instead of spending all my range time shooting.

I thought seriously about getting an HK sear back when they were $5k, but then I knew that by the time I bought all the hosts and mags and optics, I'd probably have $15k total in it ... like I said, I'm cheap and/or poor, but not especially bright when it comes to investing in precious metals.

LOL same here.
When Kevin, the founder of AAC offered me to buy a HK sear for $5K back in days, I thought he was trying to rip me off.

I sold my FNC for 7k and bought a beat up SP1 conversion for 7.4k
I was glad to get out of the FNC, great gun but not as great as the AR platform!

Yeah, I have an UZI and an M-16 too.  It's a good way to go, just wish my UZI was a RR instead of bolt gun, but I got a deal on it.  I might add an M11/9 if I can too, just for future fun stuff that may come out for this platform.

The gun that Al Pachino used in Heat. Google FN FNC.
