Anybody see any reason why a Shrike upper wont work with an RLL if the carrier is milled to the right specs? Other than taking away resale value. Would the rate of fire put to much stress on teh RLL i got the enforcer for it so it shouldnt be too bad. TIA

When the Shrike was first unveiled back in the Dark Ages, designer Geoff Herring said it would not work with RLLs, and that it could not be modified to do so.

But hey! Go for it! Whatcha got to lose?

I see no reason why it wouldn't work with the Shrike.
I use a RDIAS with my Shrike.
Of course, you will need someone to mill out the FA carrier to trip the paddle of your LL.

I swapped e-mails about this and I got a repy back from Ares that it would be possible but you would need to modify the carrier.  I never spent the money on the Shrike upper so take that for what it is worth...  an untested theory.

I did a search and I don't have the e-mail anymore but I see no reason that you could not get this to work.  Now, I am not sure how easy it would be to get your paddle in there to assemble the gun but even that should be about like any other upper.

Hey, we all disagree somewhere along the way.. search my posts and I am sure I posed something you can disagree with in the past few days.  It's part of the fun at ARFCOM

EDIT TO ADD:

Note that the Shrike was originally sold as a CLOSED BOLT and that is the version that will work with a LL!  The OPEN BOLT version will not work with the LL but then again that will not work with a DIAS either!

The open bolt version was never released (at least...to my knowledge)

The old SAR article that featured the Shrike mentioned a select fire control where semi was closed bolt and FA was open bolt but I haven't seen that either.
I'm guessing that was meant for the open bolt version of the Shrike.
