I am interested in running an AR-type 308 with a suppressor using subsonic or near subsonic rounds.  The load I have tried work well (no baffle strikes and accurate) but they will not cycle the bolt.

A while ago, I read a post where someone offerred a service whereby the bolt could be threaded for a knurled knob and the upper milled to accomodate this.  The intent is to allow either manual charging (subsonic) or auto charging (supersonic).

Anyone remember who the vendor is?

What's wrong with the charging handle?

You could try to use an ASA side charger for your build platform. I have no experience with them but they look sharp and I have been considering them for the very reasons you are addressing. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have an ASA side charger (not iin 308, however).  Shooting with a supressor it seems to spit 10x as much shit in your face.  Also it is an intereste shade of purple.  Matches some bushmaster lowers I used to have...
