I have the Ruger SR22 and the SW M&P15-22....I like the ruger and am selling the brand new SW to buy another SR22. Nothing wrong with the SW just like the Ruger 10/22 action...and so will my grandkids... I assume you are referring to the plastic not lasting.....have you heard about the plastic in the landfills that is going to stay around for thousands of years.... I'm just F-ing with you |

Anyone know anything about the sig 522 is it beter than the Smith M&P 15 22 The only reason the Sig 522 is better than the M&P 15-22 is because it uses blackdog mags (same mags as .22lr AR uppers) Other than that, go for a M&P 15-22. It's a more faithful .22lr AR clone. |
| Can't compare, but the Wife just got the SIG522. She's a SIG fan. We took it home, cleaned and lubed it, and put an old Holosight on it. Went to the range and shot approximately 400 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags. Ran like a scalded dog, no jams or FTFs the entire session. Decently accurate and a breeze to clean. She loves it and I can't find fault with it. Paid about $460 for it. Nice fun gun. |

Sweet. Got a part number for the forearm? |
I don't have the S&W because of the mags. the Smith shoots nice but are a little more ammo picky than my very reliable Sig 522, Tac Sol M4, and half dozen 10/22's. The 10/22 is cheaper and everyone should have at least one of them and I suggest buying an older (pre plastic & crap finnish) one used.
The "tactical" 22's are way more fun for off hand shooting. |

Only handled the S&W M&P-15/22, put it on my short list of gets for 2010, but have since removed it when S&W replied to me that they have no intentions of making an M4rgery version (like the Umarex "Colts") of their M&P 15/22. Guess they don't want to risk any non-PC sales potential. |
