I noticed after using my sight for about an hour that some shots would cause the dot to go out. Just touching the intensity ring brought it back. Anybody else see this? I'm thinking I may need to increase the contact with the battery, but then again it cold be the battery...I'll get a new one today.

Any thoughts?

my fake point has seven brightness settings for red/green. It didnt work on all 7 settings, then when I fired it it would go out then come back on. My budddies fake point would also go out when you fired it, I am pretty sure its not your batterys.

I have the same sightmark and it has worked just fine with hours on it.

Meh , my Sightmark fakepoint did that , so I replaced the battery and tweaked the terminals a bit - no more issues.
Try that first. If that doesn't help , the rheostat is faulty.
