Im looking at putting a single point on my SOCOMII, and was wondering if anyone is using a single point on a fiberglass stock? Im assuming I would need to firmly attach some bulkhead/ mount on the side of the reciever near the trigger group. was wondering what kind of solutions you have seen for this? current setup. I have to ditch the 3 pointer..no good for me

not mine, i pulled this pic off photobucket for ya i thought about doing that to my socom, but now i have a folding stock on it and did a 2-point sling. i ordered a swivel mount + screws from a guy on another website, 2 sets actually for $15.00 shipped- i was very happy with the screws, allen screws, nice and flat, look clean and dont stick far into the inside. i put blue locktite on them to keep them from backing out. let me know if you want that info and ill send it to ya. ill try to post pics of the new swivel i put onto my folder soon. |
I could not get a consistent sight pic. just couldn't do it, I found myself concentrating on getting my head in position. and wasting alot of time, doing so. I really like the M1a and will make it work for me, need more time and ammo  I went and installed one of those adj. cheek pieces, it dosent weigh much, and now I am able to snap up the rifle, and be on target pretty fast for me, well mush faster than without.

I thought about buying a usgi synthetic to try to make one like that... After seeing that, I might proceed w/ it. |
the one thing that sucks for me is i shoot left handed- i could easily put a single point sling on my socom16 folding stock now that i put a swivel on it, but itll be on the wrong side. i dont think there is enough clearance on the right side for a mount like that, for a single point sling for a left handed shooter, but i might be wrong. |
the sling is from "specter gear" I think it was for a M16 with a rail mount up front. it has a quick detach and is affixed to the rail with a GG&G mount. which all sounds cool, but doesn't really work that well, well honestly doesn't work at all for me. this is just my opinion |
i have a black spector gear 3-point sling also, i like it, but i dont like the velcro... ill probably ONLY use it during deer hunting since i do a ton of walking, usually over 8-10 days... i think itll be real nice for that. |
