| What kind of slugs do you run threw a smoothbore barrel? |
|
Quoted: Ok so rifled slugs go thru a smoothbore barrel. What goes thru a rifled barrel? Often sabot slugs, the plastic sabot engages the lands/grooves really well and leaves zero deposits (copper/lead) on the inside surface of the barrel. A rifled barrel with a sabot slug is a very accurate combination for deer hunting at longer ranges. |
| I bought a bunch of Wolf 1 ounce slugs awhile back and my Benelli loves them. I haven't taken them to 100 yards yet but they are grouping around 3 inches at 50 yards. Good enough for what I need and they are loaded to only 1400 fps so the recoil isn't as bad as some of the others. |
