Have any of you guys with a Socom II noticed any rail cant when using a eotech. That is how I noticed mine being canted and you could clearly see it from the muzzle end also like the rifle was twisted in the rail. So I sent it in to springfield twice with no change then the thrid time they replaced the rifle and it is the exact same way I will post some pics in the morning. I was told by SAI that they dont notice anything but I've got excellent eyes and I see it very clearly. If you look toward the muzzle with the rifle pointed at you mine the rail is twisted to the left http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/Steadyfinger007/SocomII374.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/Steadyfinger007/SocomII375.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg298/Steadyfinger007/SocomII393.jpg |
| Sorry guys I haven't checked this out in a while. Ok I did put this eotech on an AR and it is fine I took another eotech off my AR and put it on the socom and its canted this is not the 1st socom II I've had this problem with the one in the photo is the one that SAI sent me to replace the one I sent them to get fixed and it is the same. So I called SAI back and they had me put a level on the reciever and the rail and see if they match and they do not. Called them again and they said they did the same thing on my old rifle that I sent in and it was off to. They then told me they had found a major inconsistancy in several of rails they had around there and that they now seen where I was coming from. I will try to get some pics up of the levels on the rifle but I can assure everyone that it is not eotechs problem as SAI stood up to the plate and is going to get the rifle fixed for good, plus they told me they would deffienently start checking this on every rifle upon inspection so that no one else woul dhave this problem. The guy I talked to was Bret the production manager and he was an awesome guy to deal with. Also to the naked Eye looking down the rail without an optic mounted the rail seem fine but 7 or 8 degrees is hard to see on the bare rail as it is not very wide or tall when you level the reciever and put a level on the rail it is very noticable. |
