guys I have a new socom II that has maybe 500 rounds on it and I cannot get a tight group at 100 yards. I am shooting different types of ammo, some south african, 82 winchester, new summit etc whatever I can grab but my groups are huge 12+".  last time out twice I had shots land on top of each other a couple at a time, but 90% are all over.

should I expect more from the rifle, I know the barrel is short and I have heard decreased velocity/accuracy, sights are too big for long distance, etc etc

if there are any socom owners that have some more info on this from their own experiences would be appreciated. maybe the front fence post and ghost ring are throwing me off?? I am trying to make sure same sight picture everytime

thanks in adavnce

That is about the same size groups I got when I shot my Socom last week. The sights are set up for close quarters. AT 25 and 50 yards my groups were much tighter.

I have never shot a SOCOM for groups but I have shot them with pretty damn good accuaracy. We were setting up the little prairie dog shape silluettes at 100 yards and consistantly knocking them over while shooting off hand with iron sights. i would expect groups at least half the size that you are describing.
