Well I was thinking of getting a Level II vest this month, but was also thinking about other options. Are there Soft Armor Inserts (to go behind my rifle plates) that are rated Level II or III? I also remember hearing about Trauma plate inserts, to lessen to blow under the plates. Am I confusing these with the other inserts?

You can get some expensive soft armor cuts to go behind the plates in a plate carrier from Paraclete.

Or, alternatively, have Bulletproofme cut you some. Going rate, I think, is $1 per square inch. So you're looking at around $120.00 or so per insert, depending on how big you need them. (They do apply a surcharge if you need odd cuts made, to form a shape other than square/rectangular.)

I found them on Bulletproofme, I was thinking of the Blunt Trauma Pads. However now that I have looked at them it seems I would not need them. Now if I was not going to where a vest underneath then they may be something I would be looking for.

Try Diamondback Tactical.  They are not listed on DBT's website. You have to call to get them.

Think I will stay with my original idea and just buy a vest.
