Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone knew of a spanner wrench alternative to use on anvis type lock rings. Has anyone used any of the adjustable pin type spanner wrenches from Sears or anywhere else? I've heard some people use strap wrenches but, i'd prefer to use a spanner. |

I have tried lots of things. None worked great. I have a specific tool kit from ITT for taking apart various NOD. They can be hard to come by and are not cheap. A guy on Ebay sells a VERY basic kit with the tools you need for $150. I actually bought it as a spare to keep with me when away from home. It is a decent kit and works pretty well for most basic tasks. There is one for sale now. Just search ITT Litton Toolset on Ebay.
Come with the spanner for removing lenses and lock rings. Has a tool for removing the tube lock ring and a plastic sleeve to push the tube out without damage. In the past I just made my own tools by adapting similar tools with various degrees of success. Makes the job much easier when you have the correct tools. |
