I just got one of these for my RR M16 with the auto trip.

i installed it with the auto trip and the anti bounce thing that goes behind the bolt.  There are a bunch of other springs, and a ball bearing.  What is that other stuff for and how do you install it?

The ball bearing and short spring go in a channel on the right side of the bolt.  They interact with a detent in the bolt carrier rail to eliminate bolt bounce in full-auto.  More info here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=282&t=164173

Tell me if you get yours to run in FA, mine wont with any of the bulk pack Ive tried.  I get the light primer strike on the second round no matter which spring combo.

My Spikes experience:

After a couple of hundred rounds, the bolt kept getting "stuck" about 1/8" from going into complete battery.

I'm using a full length Lakeside Machine recoil spring, reduced power hammer spring, heavy ball detent spring and the AB weight.

The culprit (in my case) was a very heavy sear spring (actually a reduced length AK 47 disconnector spring) in a DIAS. The heavy spring would cause the sear leg to catch the kit's full auto trip plate and keep the bolt from traveling completely forward.

I replaced the sear spring with a bolt stop lever plunger spring from an AR15 (1/2 the power of the AK47 disco spring).

Items of notable interest:

1. Using high velocity ammo and a reduced power hammer spring allow the bolt to travel far enough back to reset the hammer.

2. Using the LM full length (extra power) recoil spring and a "light weight" sear spring allow the bolt to travel fully back into battery.

It will now shoot any ammo in FA and have not had one malfunction in the last 300 rounds since I replaced the heavy sear spring.

My 16" upper runs great doing mag dumps on full-auto using CCI Minimags.  If you shoot a short burst, the bolt does not seem to go/stay in battery, so the next trigger pull won't work.  I am told that having the ball/spring detent installed properly should remedy this to a large extent, but have not yet had a chance to test it out.
