Wanting to get a scope that can see a 223 round penetrate a piece of paper 300 yards down. Can someone point me in the right direction? Spending cap is at max $600.00

Also, this guy has better prices than Creedmoor.  On his KONUS page he has some notes about seeing holes at 200 & 300 range.

If you have targes stretched on a frame then backlighting the holes may be possible, but any scope at your pricepoint will have a tiny FOV and it will be dim.

Just about any scope including uber expensive ones seeing a 223 hole in the black at 300 is about impossible except in certain ideal light/temp/wind conditions.

This.  There's a reason they use markers in the high power game.  The scope is more for reading mirage and wind.

If you use Shoot-n-See targets, they'll show a .22 caliber hole at 300.  Try to augment your budget by a couple of hundred bucks.  A Kowa is well-worth the extra couple of Bens.
