First time FAL owner, and I noticed that I can slide the bolt stop/ bolt release, up and down, without tension. Does the FAL bolt release, have a spring holding it in the down position? Or is it susposed to move freely? |

ok... you should be able to push the bolt hold open up and with the bolt pulled back it should engage, or you can try it with an empty mag in....the bho should not just "flop around" tho....but it should be able to be pushed up and down freely.... Thats what it does, Thanks. I just seemed that a spring should be in there, applying tension to keep it down. Then a empty magazine would force it up. But I guess millions of them have worked without a spring. Found the spring and plunger. They were stuck down in the bolt hold open, and covered over by lots of carbon. |
