Pardon my ignorance, but when did Springfield M-1A's change their mount on the side of the receiver?  I've got an older one that had the "3 points" instead of the single vertical slash with the long horizontal mount.

Thanks,

I think I can answer your question but need some clarification.  SA, Inc. has sold First Generation, Third Generation and Fourth Generation scope mounts.  The First Generation mount had a single screw.  The Third Generation had two screws, one for the receiver hole and one for the substitute cartridge clip guide.  The Fourth Generation model has a split rail and is offered in aluminum or steel.  Which mount(s) are you referring to?
