I think I've just about wrapped up my M1A project. Started with a Springfield M1A Standard with a walnut stock. I gave the stock a few coats of boiled linseed oil b/c the Springfield wood comes "dry" and I wanted to give it some protection and a little sheen. I wanted to scope this rifle to do some medium range shooting. I usually shoot at 100 yards due to the limitations of my local ranges, but I sometimes go to a 700 yard range. While this setup probably won't take me out to 700, I have a good feeling she'll perform great at 500! The trigger is a H&R USGI trigger, and it feels like an honest 5 lbs pull. I don't know yet if I am going to do some of the M21 upgrades. I guess I'll need to see how this current setup works before deciding. I'm a big proponent of "sometimes you gotta leave good enough alone." I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

Mount: Smith Enterprise Weaver mount, part no. 2024
Rings: Warne Maxima permanent, medium height steel rings (I might upgrade to QD later)
Scope: Burris Signature Select 3-12x44mm w/ Ballistic Plex bullet drop compensation reticle.
Bipod: Harris Ultralight 1A2 LM, with 9"-13" notched legs

Love the mount! For the same price as the crappy SAI mount, this one is leaps and bounds ahead in quality. It went on without any issues. It appears to be indexed perfectly. My rifle's tag says it was headspaced on 4-3-06, so I assume a March '06 manufacture. I have been very pleased so far with this SAI. All love and no hate over here!

Very nice.  I have one set up the same just about.  The Smith mount is a GREAT deal.
