With all the different Countries that have used the Steyr, why is there not any Military Surplus Pouches on the market.

I have seen a lot of posts saying, this pouch will work, or that one will work, but few about pouches that were made to fit the Stery Mags.

Are any original Military available?

Aussie military surplus from EBay...

I store my mags in a US 200 round SAW pouch
If you alternate every other one (base up/base down) you can
fit 5

Good start.

Thanks.

Platatac and SORD are the two major manufacturers over there- not sure if that is the issue gear for Australia and the F88 (Aussie AUG) but they are the "Tactical Tailors" of Australia.

OP tacitcal carries SORD products, might check there so you don't get killed by shipping from Australia.

Not sure what Austria or Saudi Arabia use for pouches, I have some contacts in the Austrian Jadgkommando I can ask.

CopM4, are you putting the 30s or the 42s in the SAW pouches?
thanks

30's sir... the 42's are just too long for that pouch.

Here is a pic I took of mine around 2001 for the now defunct Steyr-AUG.com site.

You can fit 5, bases up but they are tight.. or as mentioned you can
alternate every other one and they fit fine in the pouch

Thanks, I made a quick look around OP Tactical  a few minutes ago. Looks like a pretty good product.

Not surplus but the Voodoo open-top, padded mag pouches seem to work well.

I like the platatac pouches. They were made for the AUG magazines and work perfectly.
If you have the money to spend, platatac makes a great product.

This is a chest carrier rig thing. The integral mag pouches fit two AUG mags each, separated by an elastic material. Base down they slide in and out with ease. The cover closes with velcro.

I have a few of the open top individual mag pouches. They fit just as good as the above carrier. Not too tight, not too loose, just right.
