Are the green stock , 20 inch , semi-only AUGs inported by Gunsouth and Interarms the exact same rifles??     I was told that they are , that Gunsouth inported the "Police" rifles and Interarms inported the "civilian" rifles. If yes , were these rifle inported into the USA at the same time frame or was one the inporter of the "first batch" and the other then followed? Is there any reason I should not buy a  Interarms rifle??    Thanks for all help.

I think that the Interarms were the first imported AUGs into the US during the early 80s. Gunsouth became the Stery US distributor afterwards until last year.

I owned an early AUG/SA for a while, then years later I handled a friends' 'late' AUG/SA.  I immediately noticed that the Swarovski optical sight on mine had a simple 'doughnut' reticle, while the later one had a crosshair inside a circle.

Of course, I have no idea if that difference was related to the production date.
