How do you store your bulk relaods? I've saved pretty much every box that my ammo purchases have come in with the intention of eventually refilling them and properly labeling them, but the prepper in me says load 'em in mags and stuff into ammo cans, and then the lazy in me says just dump them in ammo cans and call it a day.
What do you do? And what about precision ammo (polymer tips, precise lengths, etc..) that might warrant extra care? |

I usually put the rounds loose in a 1qt. ziplock with a paper label indicating load info and loading date. I then store the ziplocks in ammo cans. I used to dump them loose into the can, but never wanted to lug the whole can to the range. The smaller bags make more sense.
ETA: I've found that 100 rounds/bag works out pretty good. |

I had to transport a lot of ammo to the lower 48 for a class so I bought a bunch of these. They are great for storage, and a lot cheaper than any plastic boxes. |
|
I use the above ^^^^^ when I give ammo to my dad because I know I will never see the boxes again, and yes - they are cheap! :)
Rifle: Precision - keep in MTM/Berrys plastic ammo boxes. Plinking - toss in a 30 cal can Pistol: I Keep 4 X 100rnd MTM/Berrys boxes full for range trips (9mm and 45). The remainder of the bulk pistol goes in a .30 cal ammo can I thought about keeping reloads in MFG boxes - but the OCD side of me wouldn't allow it. I like to be organized..and the relabeled boxes was kind of ghetto....lol.... |

Depends on what the load is.
For high volume practice or 3-Gun/USPSA loads I just dump them loose in a 30 Cal ammo can For precision 308 loads I use MTM 50-Rnd Plastic boxes For SHTF ammo that is squirrelled away into long term storage, I'll use those Midway Cardboard Boxes and stuff those into 50 Cal ammo cans I need to pre-load some AR mags and store some in ammo cans too, just haven't gotten around to doing that yet... |

Short term, ziplock bags Long term: 9mm, saved pistol ammo boxes (with plastic trays) or ziplock bags if I don't have any boxes, in an ammo can .223 ammo goes in stripper clips in ammo cans or .223 goes in little boxes from "RepackBox" in ammo cans .30-06 goes on clips in ammo can .45 goes in ziplock bags in an ammo can (I don't have any boxes) |

I store all of my reloads in the white indestructo mailers. They are fairly small, around 3x3x2. I put a Frankford Arsenal reload label on the top of the box. Nice and organized.

| Depends on how much you load up. For 223 i usually load 500 round all the same combo and drop in a 30 cal can with the load and date info on the outside of the can. For less, i put them in plastic ziplocks with load info and add the bags to a 30 or 50 cal can until its full etc.... Drawback ther is you have to open can to see load data.... |

I use BB-53 from Midway,
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/279958/bb-53-storage-box-3-1-4-x-2-5-8-x-2-3-16-cardboard-white-box-of-100 Very useful, I store bullets, brass, parts, ammo. These hold: 50x .223 23x .308 80x 9mm They are good sized, and stack pretty well in ammo cans, 9 in a 30cal, and 18? in a 50cal. When not used they flatten back out. |
