just to sum it up for you... .223 Rem SAAMI spec is a little tighter than 5.56. (chamber dimensions). The 5.56 CASE is slightly larger than the .223, and may be tight in a .223 chamber. This can lead to overpressure situations. THUS OK to shoot .223 from a 5.56 chamber, but not too good to shoot 5.56 from a .223 chamber. mmmmkay?

Kinda right. There's no difference in the case (brass) dimensions ...just the chamber dimensions. |
