I got board one night and decided to make a spreadsheet about Sturdy gun safes. I think it's a useful tool when comparing Sturdy safes against other safes, so I've decided to share it with the hive. The specs are for the base models with and without fire lining.![]() ETA link to full-size image: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/qvOED2yeNK1DhwxoUPE327mHbs1OjyEfqXIWTComKDs?feat=directlink |

Nice single page comparision. Saves a lot time looking at web pages and writing notes. I too am undecided about the fire insulation. Have to buy next larger sized safe to recover the space lost it. I'm thinking I'm going to go with the non-lined safe. I work from my home, so its rare that it would be unoccupied for more than 1-3 hours except once or twice a month. |

NICE, thanks for sharing. How is the 7 gauge extra reinforcement welded, full length welds or tacked in places? Looks like, top to bottom, there is three welds. I wouldn't call them tacks, they are all about 2 inches long each and very thick. The three weld are at the front and the back of the extra plates so six welds per plate. Seems like it'd be fine in a break in attempt. |
