The published data has a 100gr bullet at just under 1100 f/s with 8.0gr Trail Boss I think 12.1gr will still be super sonic with a 75gr bullet. JMHO Motor1 |

Trail boss is a great powder for subsonic loads in big cases.
When using trail boss for sub loads start on the high side of powder charge range and work down until you get the velocity you want. This approach avoids bullets stuck in the barrel and/or baffle strikes from slow unstable bullets. I have no experience using it in the 243, in my 308 using 8.5 grains with a 180 grain round nose flat base bullet gives very good accuracy @ 1000 f/s measured by my crony. |

Some food for thought. Haven't shot it yet. 300 blk mcgowen barrel. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d27/robpiat/Photos/null_zps2bd8c26d.jpg I like it. |
