Since Varget seems to be in short supply, and I generally don't have enough cash to really lay in some when it is available, what is the next best alternative?

I am mainly looking for a power that will work well with 168gr SMK's and 155gr Scenars in a .308win. If it works well with .223 that's even better.

Equivalent temperature stability and charge weight would be nice.

I have two 8# Kegs of Varget on backorder and I have about 500 .308 match rounds that need to be loaded.

above or H4895 (another of the extreme line)

ETA or not temp sensitive is IMR 4064 which meters like forks through the kitchen sink garbage disposal unit.

Sierra V recommends Reloader 15 for it's accuracy loading of the 168 smk.

Looks like I will give Reloader 15 a try if I can find it in stock.

VitaVouri (I probably screwed the spelling up) N140 is in my Sierra Loading Data as the accuracy load for 155 gr .308 rounds. I tried it as described and it is VERY accurate. My second choice would be as stated above, RelOder 15. There is no "A" in reloder. Check the front of the can. I used to work at the now defunct Hercules Inc plant that developed and made this line of powder. I just noticed: I can spell Reloder but not VV.
