I have an ATI - Mauser stock....only the bottom half (not the gay top part). I have an old Turkish mauser that had been bubba'd that I am putting into the stock. The forearm portion is very open to the sides of the barrel approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch, and then under the barrel to the bottom of the stock  I want to fill it with something, but don't want to make it too heavy. Any suggestions?

I would leave it alone, it's hardly worth the work to fill the gap.

Otherwise, if you're determined I would probably use a light weight filled polyester body putty.  Put two or three wraps of tape around the barrel so a gap is maintained.
