Anyone using a Tasco Super Sniper scope on their 50s? Will it take a beating?

16X...no problems yet. Great scope. It repeats settings perfectly, even after taking the 50's recoil.

My AR50 sported a SS 20X for about 4 years before it was moved over to an AR10. A friend had a 10X on his Serbu before he replaced it with a 20X. Niether of us have any complaints.

Would you go 16x or 20x on a 50cal?

I like everything that I've read about them but they still look like a cheesy cheap Tasco scope.  Couldn't they at least try to make them look like a nice scope?

Just curious about what you mean by looking cheap?

Large white lettering and marks that are too close together and not clearly defined.  It's just got that $49  Tasco look to it.  Call me crazy but the second picture is a better looking scope IMHO.

OK, just wondering. Never really paid attention to that stuff.

On an AR-50, 20X is not a problem as it does not have much recoil. Many other 50's will catch you in the eye because of recoil on short eye-relief the 20X. Safety first, don't want to take an eye out.

Kinda of off topic, but has SWFA put the SS models on sale yet?  They were advertising a special for AR15.com members.  Nothing off the price, but all the extra goodies included.

I will ask over in optics as well.
