Looking to buy my first suppressor and need some guidance. I have the following that I'd like to suppress: Geissele 11.5" 5.56 AR with Surefire Warcomp QD SCAR 17 7.62 with AAC T51 Now the primary use will be with the AR, but it would be great to be able to use it with the SCAR as well. I've read great things about the Surefire's but they are out of stock everywhere. I'm primarily looking at Silencer shop which does show inventory for Dead Air, OSS, and SilencerCo. Opinions? Light weight would is always a plus. Thanks! |

Given that you want to run the can on a scar you should be looking at very low backpressure cans. Running scars supressed with high backpressure cans can damage them. OSS and CGS group cans should be your first choice. Surefire as well. Be careful taking reccomendations on cans from this thread as many people are reccomending great cans.... But ones that are bad for a SCAR and they just are not aware of the issues... In particular avoid high backpressure stuff like the omega and TBAC stuff. Dead air tends to be lower backpressure, but not as low as above... And you want as low as possible. |

Thanks everyone! Are rifle suppressors able to be used on pistols as well with the correct adapter? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I really appreciate the SCAR info, I didn't know that! What is everyone's opinion on Ti suppressors? I know OSS has one and I think Surefire does too. Other than the cost is there a big downside for a hobbyist type shooter like me? Thanks - tons of great info from all of you! |

Usually not, because pistol suppressors usually require a Nielsen device...unless you have a fixed barrel pistol. What is everyone's opinion on Ti suppressors? Titanium is the best suppressor material. It's lightweight, strong and plenty temperature resistant for any practical purposes (though not the best choice if you want to do FA mag dumping). I know OSS has one and I think Surefire does too. I would steer clear of the OSS cans, it's gimmick technology that has very poor sound level reduction in comparison to conventional suppressors. |

Quoted: My local dealer has recommended either the trash panda or thunder chicken from Q. Any feedback on these? I like Q’s stuff and own a Sugar Weasel. That said, by most accounts their cans seem to work best on 300 Blk, acceptably on 308, and not well on 5.56. |

Just an update that I stopped by my local shop and they had the Trash Panda and YHM Turbo in stock so I got both of them, since the turbo was so affordable! I was hoping for the Turbo K but they didn't have one. I also got the Q adapter for the Turbo which make it very close to the trash panda in weight. So, with a single mount I can use both cans. I think the Turbo will stay on the AR and the panda will go on the SCAR. Thanks for all the help! I'll be sure to update everyone in about a year when I can take them home. :) |

I sell suppressors, so I have access to any that I want. All my rifles have Silencerco Omega 300s on them. They are very hard to beat. Currently they come with 2 mounting options as well. A .30 cal direct thread adapter and a muzzle device of your choice that works with the quick connect system that comes with it too. |
