We all know how important it is that the mount/threads be concentric to the bore of the weapon. My question is, do most guys check the clearances or not? If you do check, how. I have looked at the Geissele alignment tools and not sure if I couldn't make due with a peice of drill rod. Don't get me wrong, the Geissele tool is nice but @ $75 apeice for a one time use, I have to pass. (of course when my can ends up downrange, I may rethink my frugality)

Drop a rod. Look down the bore like suggested.
Ive been good to go on about 4 different AR barrels, a C93, and a Savage bolt gun. I think the concentric thing is a little over blown. Im sure there are some cheap barrels out there that are suspect, but if you use anything quality you will be fine in my experience |

I didn't check the numbers. I put my mount on, mounted the suppressor, then looked down the bore made sure it was clear of any visible baffles and it was a perfect circle. Not a perfect method, but I've used my can on 5 different rifles with no issue thus far. This method has worked for me every time. |
