Alright y'all, I'm trying to figure out which .22 pistol would work best for me.

It needs to:
accept a suppressor
Accept a light/laser (X400v) will be shot predominately under night vision with the IR light and laser
Needs to maintain a 1911'ish grip angle
Finally needs to be accurate, reliable, and durrable, it'll get used hard.

I've been looking at the MKIV tactical and the M&P 22c. Those are the only two that I could come up with but I'm open to anything.

Let's discuss and see pics!:)

Never heard of D&T, what product are you referring go to?

The 22 45 meets all your requirements but plan on adding extras to make it help make it more reliable and to remove the stupid magazine safety.

I never shot mine stock but to me, the LCI was going to make it jam more while shooting it suppressed.

Not sure what you mean by running it hard but 22s are dirty rounds and my 22/45 suppressed starts slowing down around 300 rounds while running bulk ammo.  It needs to be cleaned so it will function again.

I have seen multiple pictures of people putting rails on 22/45 lites and I know other models exist that have the rail already installed from the factory.

Drill and Tap.  Great bunch of guys.

My vote would be the m&p 22 full size.  Unless you have really small hands the full size is the way to go. 12rd mags too.

MKIV's are still recalled and not gonna be in stock anywhere anytime soon.

What parts would be best to upgrade/replace on the 22/45?

As far as run hard, I meant that it'll go out with us at night and get shot vermin that's encountered while pig hunting. It'll be placed in a chestbrig and drug along for the adventure and 4wheelee rides. Things sometimes do t go as planned at night, the odds of it falling on the ground and or getting dirty are good.
I just need it to be reliable, accurate, and dependable.

My 22/45 is a 12 rounder too.  Just have to add more extras...again

Well that is rough to answer as you sort of start running down a rabbit hole when you mod.  Mine is pretty modified but if you asking bare minimum:

LCI delete and remove magazine safety with a TK bushing.

But since you have the whole gun apart to put in the TK bushing you might as well put in the vorquerten sear/hammer/trigger and TK slingshot.

How about a 22 conversion for a 1911?  This is assuming you have a 1911.

22/45 gets my vote, very...very strongly.

Reliable great little guns... and doing the necessary upgrades is cheap.  $7 for a MK2 hammer bushing to remove magazine safety and make it kick out empty mags, internals to lighten and work on the trigger are cheap, easy to mount a red dot, you can make a 22/45 insanely awesome for not too much cash.

Awesome! Thanks for all the help y'all  I've decided to stay with the 22/45

I already have a MKIII 22/45 and I'll just upgrade the internals and LCI delete. Now the real question, is there any way/other options for getting a rail on the underside of the barrel so I can mount the X400? It has a threaded 4.5" barrel but is not drilled and tapped for the rail. Are there any options other than the D&T?

How bad do you need a light?

I run my 22/45 with FF3 on top, and a Unimax-IR in front of that. No light. No problem.

I wasn't really considering running a mrds. I could, no reason not too; I was just planning on running the irons for day time use and the X400V at night.

What about this,  Would  this work? If any one has one of these, please chime in.
Are these a good system?
Lightweight, solid?

Anyone know what  the inside diameter of the front hole for the muzzle is? I'm trying to see if my can will slide inside the housing since my barrel is only 4.5".

Honestly if you're going to do that I would just sell the one you have and buy the 22/45 you want.  I've been down the rabbit hole of trying to reinvent the wheel, and you save a ton of time and money just doing it the right way the first time.

I would also HIGHLY recommend a mrds mounted on the 22/45.  Makes laser accuracy more achievable.  I went with a Burris ff3, tk bushing, vz grips and with my sparrow I can easily hit bottle caps at 25 yards unsupported.

You could buy the new Ruger 22/45 Mark IV Light, and buy the new Volquartson barrels they are making for them.  Easy 1 button takedown, great host with lots of aftermarket support and a true matchgrade barrel.
