I have a Gemtech Viper on transfer, and I'm looking to purchase a nomex cover for it.  Does anyone make them any longer?

Do you really need one?  The Viper has a built-in heat shield already.  I'd think it would be too bulky once you add the cover over the top of the heat shield.

That being said, the Bowers Griptastic covers work pretty well.  I suppose you could cover the front half of the can.  Personally, I just cover enough to have something to grip, leaving the remainder uncovered so it can cool better.  I actually ended up cutting a cover in half.  It gives me enough to hang on to, and now I've got one for each can.

Need - I'm not sure but I'd rather avoid getting any burns, if my hand was to come off of the heat sheild.  I don't mind the extra bulk.  I just can't seem to find anyone that has them for sale.

I highly recomend Tab gear for these. I own three myself and they are very affordable, effective, and custom made for your can.
You can find their products off of Rifles only.com

I work for SilencerShop and am not affiliated with rifles only or Tab. Just trying to pass along good intel.

I got mine from Elite Iron, out of Idaho as I recall. Kind of a Mom & Pop's type operation, nice folks and they build to order so you know it'll fit. I use it my SureFire 6.8 can (why I didn't buy a .30 can I don't know but will never forgive myself!) not to keep from burning myself- you only do that once- but to keep it from killing everything it comes in contact with. When I got my first can I put a couple nice burns in one of my gun cases. Oh yeah, & never try to clean the melted plastic off your can `til it cools completely!
For that reason alone it's nice to have and only $45 or so. The wrap itself will start smoking after a quick mag but has never actually caught fire nor left any marks on my can. I do worry about the added heat retention in the can, can't be good for it. When exhaust wrap is used on headers the headers don't last half as long as they would otherwise. It's probably no big deal but I'd be curious what can mfgrs say about the use of wraps.

THAT'S what I'm looking for!  Greatly appreciate.
