I set up my new Dillon trimmer the other day and ran about 500 rounds of LC, WCC, FC, and some misc. commercial thru it to get the hang of it. Sized all the brass to 1.750 and called it a day.

Next day I decided to swage the LC and misc crimped brass I had, some WCC and FC.  Setup up my Dillon swager using a LC piece and proceeded to swage. No problem on the LC but all of the WCC and FC wouldn't fit in the swager. I used my caliper to check the case length, diameter of the case mouth (OD and ID), etc.

Problem is, I can't figure out why the, other than LC cases, wouldn't fit in the swager. Each piece irregardless of manufacturer fit the caliper and the case gage to the same specs. No major difference in case that I can see. Any suggestions on what to check?

Do you mean that the case mouth won't fit over the swagging rod?
IIRC, the sized on the dillon trimmer doesn't have a provision for expanding the case neck when trimming, so has to be done in a separate stage. Difference in neck thickness may let some be used without expanding.

It will fit over the case rod but it is like the case length is too long to slide down completely horizontal to be swaged. Sorry no pics to illustrate.

The directions say:
"NOTE: Re-adjustment of the locator rod may be required when swaging brass from different manufacturers or different lots due to different case webbings."

Another thread on adjusting a Dillon Super Swage.

Has some good info.

I should read more shouldn't I? Thanks for showing me the light. One more questions though. What are webbings? Is that related to case construction?

Web is where the primer hole is located.

The thickest part of the case.

Different brands of cases have a different web thickness.

Which is why you should sort cases by headstamp.

Different web thickness will require a different adjustment.
