I have one of these and it is GREAT with one exception. The IR light and laser are visible with the naked eye from the target perspective, they show as a fairly bright red light source. You can't see the actual light beam or laser but can see them at the source...which of course I don't want.
Is there a filter of some type that will filter the light further as to make it invisible from the target end? I don't care if it diminishes the lights range, which I assume it would have to,I just want it to be invisible. Thanks in advance. |

The human eye can see up to 1350nm or thereabouts. Decreasing the intensity is the most effective way of masking it. If it's a problem entirely, then go passive. If you still need some, a neutral density filter may do what you're looking to achieve. I think some experimentation may be required. Regards David

| I have several of each of Streamlight's IR series illuminators and lasers too and I would not call the signature from the illuminators bright, it is pretty faint. It is also a pretty narrow visible signature, like 5 deg or less I would estimate, from the source. I will say I have never had someone point the laser at me while downrange. Any full powered IR laser or illuminator is going to have the same effect. |
