I have been thinking about getting into the clip-on game and was looking at PVS-22s, but I noticed back in 2012 TNVC came out with a clip-on device that was supposed to be more cost effective and it looked like it offered great performance. I couldn't find any information about that being cancelled, but I don't see it on their website. Am I missing it or has it been discontinued?

TNVC actually did build a few WASP units, however they are no longer available.

Too bad, that looked like a good unit.

I held it in my hand, briefly...

But, as the poster above pointed out, it's dead Jim.

That's one way to put it.
The clip on market is alive and well, what market conditions are you referring to?

The only two I ever saw on the internet, one ended up in Europe ~ I won't comment more on that speculation, and the other went to vics hog hunting buddy in tx who did a review online of it.  It's probably still out there...

I think it is a nice way of saying it cost to much to build and produce at the price point they wanted to sell them at. It worked well but was not up to the quality that Vic wanted as it had a few lingering issues that was not cheap to fix. We already have nice 10K clipons and the ATN offerings which are much cheaper but have problems as well. Vic didn't want to build another 10K clip on when other fine options exist in that market.

It just didn't work out at the price he wanted to sell them for. So he axed the project. Simple as I can say it.

This one has been near and dear to my heart for a while.  I followed this thing since its inception, marketing hype with pre-sales, and subsequent Keyser Soze moment into nothingness.  I repeatedly queried TNVC about the progress and subsequent delays, never getting a solid answer but more a politician's soft sell i.e. it won't be released until it's ready.  Fair enough.  Interestingly, a product with the same name, previously advertised specs, and even photographs can be found on SWFA  made by Morovision WASP for sale right now.  All that said, as previously stated, there have been advancements by other companies in comparable clip on devices (Armasight (just acquired by FLIR BTW) has a decent unit in the CO-X if you get the improved white phosphorus tube).

Interesting. So if I had to guess Morovision took over the project.

What issues was  TNVC having with the WASP that made them not want to bring it to the market?

This.

Been researching the Legionnaire lately and I think it will be my next NV purchase. It seems perfect for what I need. That WASP sounded cool as well though.

Apparently Morocision has gone out of business, might want to check their WASP before you send finds.

It uses the same housing at the Armsight CO-X. I like Chris Adams and think he makes good gear, but curious why the legionnaire over the CO-X?

Didn't know they went out of business.  May be some room for negotiation with SWFA on price for anyone interested.  I got the CO-X and love it.  Anyone have the Legionare that folks are talking about?
