Got it yesterday.

The knife feels good in your hand, and is built like a tank.

The first impression is what a weird shape the blade is. I understand it's a survival/camp knife, not a combat blade, but I think for making a make-shift spear, it should have a slight more drop point to it. However, for batoning fire wood, the shape of the blade makes sense.

I used it today with my fire bow drill and the divot in the handle worked pretty well. You have to find the sweet spot to keep the spindle from popping out once you get going. I used it in the yard for some light chopping and made a quick firestick, which it excelled at.

The survival kit that comes with it is ok, but nothing to think that is where your money is going. I bet you could duplicate the kit at Walmart for 10-15 bucks. The sheath has a good pouch for the compass and firestarter and I'm going to put a few pieces of kindling inside the knife's grips. The rest of the kit would fit inside a small tin or plastic container about the same size.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the knife, but I'd honestly have to say it shouldn't cost what they charge. If this were a $65. knife, then you'd be spot on with it. I paid double that so it's not getting the luxury of house duty or a conversation piece, this knife is going to be worked hard.
