I just did a little research on the AR50.  Does Armalite actually send Tylenol with each gun?  That's too funny!

Sorry if I'm acting like a total noob.....

Yes, you get a little two pack. No for the shoulder, but for the headache after a long day of muzzelblast.

Having never shot a 50, I've got to question just how bad the muzzle blast is.

How many rounds are we talking about before you "need" the Tylenol?

Yes, they do give you Tylenol. I do however think it is more of a joke than anything. They also give you earplugs

Mine had a pack that my wife found for one of her "headaches".

Oddly enough, I was about to ask a question regarding the .50's blast/headache association... While discussing my pending purchase of a Barrett 82A1, my friend, who has shot several .50 bolt guns, told me that the rifles do in fact give you a pretty serious headache after five or six rounds, regardless of what type of ear protection, etc. is used. He said the recoil was negligable considering the size of the round, but that the muzzle blast and shockwave produced was quite unpleasant. Can anyone confirm or deny their experiences with this?

I have put 20 rounds through my friend's Serbu BFG50 in about 20 minutes when he sighted in his scope and had no headache. The muzzle blast is not bad for the shooter.....just don't stand beside someone shooting a .50  The blast will blow your hat off your head if you are standing in the wrong spot.

I use ear plugs and muffs when shooting the .50. Never had a headache.

YMMV

They didn't used to, mine came new without the tylenol but I got it some time ago.

That's pretty funny with the Tylenol.

I've never had a headache from my Barrett. Muzzle blast is definetly there but as stated above it's directed out from your prone form.

What will eat you alive is the dust cloud it kicks up if you fire over loose dirt.

It was good for a laugh for sure, but I have never got a 50bmg headache. Maybe a wallet ache???
