I'm looking for slings for both a heavy DPMS LR 308 and a Saiga 12.  Looking at black synethic slings; however open to ideas.  I just don't want to pay $30+ for a sling I could have made for $5.
Can anyone make a good case for single vs. 2 vs 3 point? Recommendations on make and any current sales are appreciated.

I use a Command Arms single point sling attached to a Magpul ASAP.

I think it cost around the $20+ range. Well worth the money if you decide to go single point.

1 points....  I see no point in it.  Its uncomfortable and the weapon is not retained unless you are holding it
2 point.         Great. You can keep the tight to your chest. With an SBR its like its not even there  (with my design it feels like air)
3 point       excellent for getting tangled up and being confusing as hell.

This is my sling concept.

Take a look at the Spec-Ops "master blaster". It is an adjustable 2 point with a quick release buckle and bungee section. You can make one easily w/o bungee's. If you are scrapping a Spec-Ops mamba , that would be the ideal scenario and it gives you a bungee end.

With a simple tug of the string on the buckle, it goes from secure at your chest to ready to fire. The 2" webbing bears the weigh along with bungees.

This is my sling concept.

You will need:
-2x 1" tri glides
-1x 1" buckle
-some 1" webbing
-some 2" webbing

The middle is where the 2" webbing goes.
You will have to fold the corners and sew the female end of the buckle to front part.
On the rear section of the 2" fold the corners and sew on a length of the 1" (this end is for the stock)
Run a length of 1"  through the male buckle end.
Attach the tri-glides on each end.
Take the tag end of the front 1" section, roll it up some and sew that roll (to keep it from slipping out the buckle)

An alternative to tri glide buckles on ends....   sew a loop with a half twist.make sure its big enough for the end to pass back through.

I see your argument w/ retention, but I am completely comfortable with my SP and like the design.
