| I have about 300 rounds through my Tactical Solutions 22 conversion. So far I can get maybe 2-3 rnds simi-auto before it has a stoppage. I have figured it out to be a failure to cock the hammer. I have a Stag lower with a smooth hammer (not notched). I shoot CCI mini-mags using Black Dog 10 rnd magazines. It will fire one round extract, eject, strip a new round from the mag and re-chamber the new round. It just doesn't re cock the hammer. I put a different hammer spring in but it still doesn't re cock the hammer. It is very clean and well lubed. It feels like the bolt just doesn't travel far enough rearward to cock the hammer. Any ideas would really be helpful. |

Just off the top of my head but is there a spring under the disconnector? and if so is it on right? I have a TacSol 22M4 and used a NIB DPMS lpk and it runs fine. (meaning springs were tight and lower parts were gritty and stiff) +1 I couldn't make my Tac Sol malfunction. LPK is a standard DPMS, no mods, factory springs, etc. Something is causing this problem, there is nothing wrong with the design of the Tac Sol upper that would cause this. |
| We, several shooters and I, disassembled the entire trigger assembly and swapped out the hammer spring, degunked the lower receiver re lubed the whole thing and it still would not re cock the hammer. What spring are you referring to and disconnector? We even swapped the lower for another one but it had a notched hammer and it wouldn't even cycle. I am hoping its just the lower that is the problem. |

The disconnector is right on top of the trigger and catches the hammer and there is a spring underneath. But call or email TacSol. |
| I e-mailed Tec Sol last night. When I got home this afternoon there was an e-mail from Amy asking me to call their tec support at my earliest convenience "to get my gun running 100%". It was to late today but I'll call in the morning. No matter what the problem is, they, just getting back to me with assurance, that quick says an awful lot about great customer service. I will keep you all posted. To answer the question, Yes when I cycle the bolt it will cock the hammer. I also have an LMT lower that I'm going to give a try, hopefully this Friday. I want everyone to know this is not in anyway slamming Tactical Solutions or their product, in a way I hope it is me, cause I really love the upper, and when it works, damn its accurate. |
| Sorry for the delay, but here is the update for those interested. I e-mailed Tac Sol, Amy asked me to call Lon at customer service. He wasn't in yet, but returned my call pretty quick. I began to tell him of my problem and he said "I know what the problem is, are you mechanically inclined?" Nope. Lon said no problem I'll send you a new bolt. We then talked for awhile, about shooting and past work etc, really nice guy. I got the part yesterday slapped it in last night and went to the range this morning. My upper will shoot anything I put in it. Some ammo I haven't a clue what it is but it shot it anyway. I also have some CCI 22 longs (not long rifle) shot them just as well. Now I know what others are talking about. If any one needs a recommendation for Tactical Solutions get in touch. I may have got a Monday or Friday rifle but their customer service was incredible. Sure it would have been great to get it correct the first time but sometimes how it gets there tells you about the people and company. |

Wow that's interesting, as noted above I have the same problem but in my case TS asked for the upper back along with my lower. They received it last friday (takes a week to get from NY to Idaho) but I have not heard anything from them yet. I hope we have the same problem and that mine runs as well as yours when I get it back. |
| I just got back from a 3-gun shoot in Arizona. I talked to a Tac Sol rep/competitor while I was there. He said there were some issues with an old style bolt but they have got them worked out (I'm satisfied, shot it again this morning ran better than a Timex) The difference between the two, is the new bolt has a brass/gold colored extractor instead of a silver one. The only thing I can think of is, that I got my upper from GunKings and it might have been an older one. Good luck with the fix. |
