I know what they are and what they do.
My question is can someone list the chokes in order of pattern size? What choke makes the smallest pattern to which one makes the biggest pattern.. THanks |

Turkey Extra Full= tightest choke=tightest patterns
Cylinder bore=No choke=Poke and hope. Between them in decending order of pattern tightness, Full choke Modified choke Improved Modified choke Improved Cylinder Then we have specialty steel shot choke tubes which produce advertised patterns with steel and more open patterns with lead. |

improved modified is tighter than modified. Light modified falls between improved cylinder and modified. There ya go, I've been around shotguns all my life and still get them mixed up from time to time. Matter of fact ,right here, on this very thread,m is the first time I have ever seen a "Light Modified" choke, but there it is, in the Briley chart! |

On a related note, I just received my Mossberg four pack of extended choke tubes from CDNN consisting of an extra full turkey choke for lead shot, a full steel BB-1-2 shot sizes. a full steel 4-6 shot sizes, and a modified steel all shot sizes choke tube.
@ $7.50 per tube I considered it a bargain and couldn't pass up having a few spares on hand! |
