HAHA...agreed no man regardless of wealth could own that much firepower and not be divorced. |

Yeah, if you've got that much an investment in your home I think you would go with a fire suppression system. The guy could obviously afford it. |

What door is that? I don't have a whole lot to spend on a door, but currently have my collection locked in stack-on security boxes, inside my 12x12 12" concrete room. All room and no door. (I have a regular steel front door on there now, with deadbolts top, center, and bottom with pins on the hinge side)... Still, I need a door worthy of the room. I'm going to roll some carpet, a fridge, and my wifi in there so I can surf arfcom with my collection at hand. |

Here are a few pics from the BATFE's gun room. Most of you have seen these pics already I would imagine, since they've been kicking around the net for over a year now, but here's a small sample for the uninitiated.
There are a total of 141 pictures in this particular collection, if you'd like to see the rest, click here. |

God that collection of guns is beautiful, but then at the same time, when I think that those guns will never be "owned" or shot by someone makes me shed a tear Hell, just the Mp-40s and Stg-44s are enough to make a guy go ape shit |

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I'd like to set my own gun room up, and I really want something kind of flashy, not just a concrete room with wall-mounted pegboard. I neither desire nor can afford a museum type setup like in the first few pics I posted on page one, so I've been looking to other places for inspiration.
I took a look through several of the recent SHOT Show threads and found a few nice setups that I might consider for my gun room. This is from the HK booth, it looks like carbon fiber but I hope not because I imagine that would be tremendously expensive. I'd also love to find some sort of rubber strip in the same color that I could push into the metal slots to keep it looking uniform (except where the actual mounting hardware is installed). This is a much cheaper solution at the MSAR Booth - just hang camouflage netting over dark pegboard. This still looks pretty good, though my concern is that it is so easy to get objects caught on camo netting, that if I hung this in a room, I might eventually get careless and have a rifle go crashing to the ground when it gets snagged as I am removing it from the wall mounted hooks. Still looking, and still considering my options. |

I am going to use wall display racks in mine, like these: clicky I am not sure if I will put anything behind it yet, but there will be pictures of the setup within 2 weeks or so, since we move in next Friday. |

I like that camo netting idea. Where would one buy Camo Netting? |

I know army navy stores in this area have netting just like it, and it comes in nice 10 foot x 10 foot sections. |

I would guess as they have the PA state flag and the WDVE sticker. DVE freakin' ROCKS! Man, this thread is making me shake. Shake because I know I have to work a whole lot more to get as many guns as I've seen in thes pictures. But, ya gotta have goals! |

My gun room is done in camo netting and fabric. I bought some on ebay, and found a ton at the local fabric store (Jo Anne Fabrics) for dirt cheap. |

These are older pics. It's still in the construction process. This is a room I built in my open basement. I framed it in and added the closet. Since these pictures, I've added camo netting on the ceiling. I'm currently adding caging the inside, and will then add a security door behind the interior door (hence the double width door frame). Obviously, this is overkill, but MA gun laws are so restrictive it's the only way I can have working projects and ammo out without violating the law.

I did a brushed suede look in my living room for ~$80. In my office I have a "stainless tile" wainscoat on the wall for ~$250. Neither room is done, yet, but they are starting to look good. If you want something like the brushed steel like that you should be able to do it with paint. Check US Calvary or Cheaper Than Dirt for cammo netting. If any of you plan on dying... you know you could leave me one small piece of your collection. ETA: don't tell the nervous nellies at Lowes what you're planning. |

that wall treatment that you like is just thin gauge sheetmetal with a flap disc on a agle grinder used on it. it is really easy to do. 1 get a verable speed angle ginder 2 get a flapdisc from lowes i use the 80grit ones that say dewalt on them 3 place the sheet metal on plywood to hold it flat 4 using difernt speed grind the metal lightly laying the angle grinder flush to the sheet metal and move it around in a circlar motion. 5 lift the angle grinder pic a difernat speed and do the same motion a litte further ove 6 over lap the circles and you ar good to go edit for spelling screw it im teried plowed for two days striaght and never left the parking lot |
