Cost?  Is that modular?  I was wondering about the possibility of retrofitting a walk-in closet.

If you're asking me about cost and being modular.....I dont have it down to the penny, but if you were to do the exact same thing...about $9000.  The structure alone is $6500 without shipping.  It's not modular.  It is one solid 4x8 piece of 1/4" steel with 2"(1/4" walled) tubular steel frame and a 1/2" base frame.  It is by far more secure than any safe that I've come across, but gives you the walk-in ability of a vault.  The good thing is that it can be moved if I ever relocate.

I'm actually just a flat foot, but thanks for the boost!    It's made of steel.  I didn't build the steel structure.  I bought it and started from that point.  I have my entire garage done up in cabinets matching that one.  I made all those as well....minus the machine work and bending the diamond plate.  Thanks again

Awesome thread. Sucks about the missing pages though. If noone else has answered about who's collection OP's is. "The gun collection actually belonged to the late Bruce Stern, rather
than Charlton Heston. Mr Stern was a lifelong military and gun
collector. An attorney and Vietnam veteran, he was involved in a number
of military and firearms related organizations. He was a member of the
National Rifle Association (NRA) Board of Directors. Mr Stern passed
away in July, 2007.

The Stern gun collection became famous among firearms enthusiasts.  A portion of the extensive collection was auctioned off
in March 2008 by James D. Julia Auctioneers. The auction, which
included firearms from other collections as well as Stern's, raised a
record-breaking $12.7 million. Photographs of items from the Stern collection are available on the Julia Auctions website. Another part of the Stern collection is set to be auctioned in October, 2008."

So the inside dimensions are 4x8?

Who is the manufacturer?

And BTW, that looks awesome!

Thanks for the info.  Ouch!  I'll have to wait on that idea.  It's still cool, though.

I really like this also, but would like more of a secured room than a vault.  That way you could set up shop in there with a desk and a computer.

Great job,

Natron

That one's got to be a shop, come on, that can't be somebody's personal stuff!

Come on!

Wish I saw this thread sooner. That room is the proof room at Diemaco also known as Colt Canada. When Avenger 15 originally posted it, it was after the same rooom with wooden racks. The Colt guys had a company come up with the metal racking there to clean things up. Been there a few times. Yes I wash it was my room

Not a real gun room exactly, but this is a screen capture from the Call of Duty 4:  Modern Warfare tutorial level, so I threw it in here anyway.

In the fourth picture of the red room, what is the top rifle?  It looks like a Cetme with a Yugo underfolder attached.

Prototype HK91, I think. Check my thread in the HK forum in the Armory for more pics of this particular collection.

It's like porn though.  You have to keep going more hardcore.

Once you've been to Knights Armament Co. and Dan Shea's LMO, you might as well just quit, because you'll never see a gun collection and go "wow" ever again.

Avenger15, on pg 7, date 1/15/2009 9:23am foto's 6 and 7. This looks to be around $50,000.00 worth of weapons. Is this a personal collection in a basement or part of a museum collection? Hell, the Airborne museum doesn't have a colection like this.

No, those are privately owned, just a guy who really, really loves the M1 Garand.  I personally don't desire that many copies of ANY weapon, but some people love to pick up every minor variant for whatever reason.  There is one famous NFA owner who possesses I think thirteen German FG42s, valued at $100,000 each.  I've also seen a picture on HKPro.com of a guy who had 30+ HK P7 pistols.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk man.

It's just kind of annoying how there are missing pages. I was simply suggesting maybe reposting the pics in a new thread without the glitch.

It got messed up somehow when the original post was "copied" into the Armory section without getting rid of the original in the general section - after which this post got tacked & I think the other post is now archived... - in any case, now it simply stacks up freaky non-existent pages with new posts... Not sure what's actually going on with it, but whatever it is - It wasn't any of my doing...
