And here's my -14 on the AR. I stole the Vortex PST off my .308.....getting ready for a trip to Texas; the AR is going but the .308 isn't. I can deal with not shooting the .308 for a couple months to have something so badass looking. 
Scope is far enough back I can get sighted in without the PVS attached (stock on a short setting) and then move the stock out a bit to compensate for the PVS.

Id like to hear more about the armasight co/mr
whats the usable max range for say a hog sized target? half the day capability? 100 yards? how far can you make hits on a man sized target sil? with and without ir illumination. There is basically zero info on these since its a new company, if you could fill us in more I would appriciate it |

Here is my old school PVS-2, with ABC. Yes it looks like a LAW, weighs a ton.... and even has a high pitch whine when on. But for 1960-70's technology, it is incredible. I am saving up for a PVS-14, and dbal i2 ....one day

I haven't actually shot it like this yet (though I'm hoping I might have a chance to next week) - but I took it out and just played around with it and seeing how the set-up works - the only issue is that I'd like to shoot suppressed at night... out of courtesy - but no OPS Inc. or AE can for it yet. 
The PVS-14 mounted behind the SU-230 definitely has a HUGE effect on light collection, it's pretty dim on a cloudy, drizzly night - but it's still useable, probably with a scope of less light collection/optical clarity than the ELCAN, it might be near useless without much star/moonlight, but on a less overcast night, I think it would work pretty well. Both the crosshairs and center dot illumination worked very well at the lowest setting, though I wonder still if they may be too bright (just barely detectable without NV) for the tube to keep it on constantly, and if bright enough, the crosshairs are useable non-illuminated, though they're a harder to pick up the darker ambient conditions are. "If" the PEQ-15 were real, though, the onboard illuminator would a huge difference, and make it much more useful, though it would somewhat defeat the purpose of having a passive night targeting solution. An SF V-Series worked pretty well too, but I figured if you're going to be waving a big IR flashlight around, you may as well have the option of using an IR laser as well. Would love "maybe one day, some day" to be able to try an AN/PEQ-2A and/or an AN/PVS-22/4 on there, preferably with a proper scope. The way she's set up now, I actually can still use the SU-230 as a day scope if the PVS-14 is removed so long as I keep the stock all the way collapsed and shoot super "NTCH." I did have to remove the ARMS #40 to allow the PVS-14 mounting arm to attach properly - an alternate weapon mount would probably help allow getting everything closer as well as retaining the BUIS, but I doubt this is going, necessarily, to be a "dedicated" setup, and I'm not really planning to spend any extra money on setting it up this way versus using what I have on hand. It's not like I have a terribly pressing need for "night sniping" at the present time besides recreationally... ~Augee |

Two dedicated night rigs and the gear normally carried, a 5.56 Noveske 10.5" and Larue 7.62 14.5" PredatOBR, and HSG belt. The Noveske has a TNVC PVS 14 mount behind the Aimpoint comp M3. These two units are responsible for the deaths of 57 pork pasture problems the last few months.  NOVESKE 10.5" 5.56 with LDI DBAL I2 Green, Surefire 952V and AAC M4-2000, handgun is a Nighthawk Costa   Larue 14.5" 7.62 PredatOBR, LDI CQBL, Surefire Socom 762RC suppressor, the second pressure pad is for an LDI SPIR that is at LDI having work done.  Ops Core fast jump helmet, with MODarmory dual 14 bridge and dual TNVC L3 Omni VIII tubes on a Norotos INVG  Flir LS-64 used for spotting  FLIR RS-64 35mm thermal scope on the 7.62 and UNV mini dv recorder  |
