I feel like I made a thread as I first put this thing together, but it must have archived by now. Anyway, I love this little guy--its an absolute riot to shoot, quiet, short, light, handy, etc. Specs: -Fletcher RW 11/22 Open Top Receiver -Tandem Kross Manticore Trigger, Lightweight Bolt and Charging handle -Summit Precision CF 6" Barrel -SB Tactical Charger Chassis -Off Grid Scorpius -SIg Skeleton folding stock -BCM Angled VFG -Sig Romeo 7S -Steiner TOR Mini IR Like most .22's it's a little picky on ammo and mags. But when you get the right combo it is a pure joy to shoot. Post pics of your favorite charger builds! |

What Hersey chassis length do you recommend for an 8” barrel and suppressor? Would a dead air mask fit under the hand guard? |

It depends how much of the can you want tucked in. My fixed chassis one with a 6.375" handguard has a 4.5" Acculite barrel and a gen1 Thunderbeast TD22 tucked in it. The Takedown chassis one with a 9.59" handguard has a 12" Acculite barrel and SilencerCo Switchback in short configuration. Yes, a DA Mask will fit in the handguard. |

Those are all mighty fine tacticool 10/22’s … but how do they shoot? With the razor scope and Eley benchrest precision ammo, this shoots dime sized groups at 50 yards.  Even with the cheap 1-6x ACSS scope and Eley ammo it’ll do <1” at 50yd (mostly because the large center dot is larger than the groups it shoots  ). Pop the bipod off and put the sling on and with the 1-6x that boys evolution stock makes it just a fantastic hiking & offhand shooter.Kidd receiver, SBR’d Kidd 10” Lightweight Barrel Kidd… everything Boyd Stock stainless pillars rear tang inlet epoxy glass bedded full free float stainless bipod/sling pillar Stainless Form 1 Silencer Random bipod I had sitting around. I SBR'd my Charger and put it into a Magpul Backpacker X-22 stock. 10" Acu-Lite barrel with front and rear iron sights added (drilled and tapped barrel for a set of Williams fiber optic sights). Modified the storage area dividers so I could fit my suppressor. Added a Timney Calvin Elite trigger, and had all the silver parts (bolt and takedown collar assembly) refinished in QPQ Black Nitride.

The front sight is for a Ruger Mk IV (had one in my parts bins), and the rear sight is for a CVA muzzle loader. The CVA muzzle loader has a fat barrel that is nearly the same diameter as the .920" bull barrel that almost all 10/22 barrels use. I had a local gunsmith drill and tap the barrel since I don't have the appropriate tools at home ($75 cost for the labor). https://muzzle-loaders.com/products/williams-fire-sight-set-cva-round-barrel-66711 I do find it interesting that no barrel maker offers iron sights on a take down barrel...seems like a perfect setup, but I think most people tend to use an optic. FJ Feddersen makes a 16" 10/22 bull barrel that comes with the same Williams sights, but they don't offer a take down barrel. So, I stole the idea and had my local gunsmith modify my Acu-Lite barrel. |
Literally the only factory Ruger parts in this are the bolt body and charging handle. Once I move in a few weeks, I'll be doing a F1 to SBR it. FYI, if you open up the hole on the SB hinge a tiny amount you should be able to get one of the Sig style stocks to fit it pretty easily. That's my evil plan to try out, as the 3 rail section hinges press against the top of your hand uncomfortably.

Not sure how much it would effect accuracy after separating the two I thought about doing a rear sight on the receiver, but in the end I opted to have both sights on the barrel, since it is a take down and proper re-alignment could be an issue. If NodakSpud still made their awesome iron sights, I would have gone that route, but since they don't, the Williams fiber optic setup was the next best thing. Overall, I have been really happy with how it turned out. I can easily see over the suppressor with the irons as they are and I don't plan on using a red dot on this 10/22. |

Started out as a 10-22 takedown, but I SBR'd it and put a 10" Charger barrel on it. Magpul backpacker stock, Magpul optic mount, Bushnell red dot, Rex Silentium MG22 modular suppressor, and Ruger BX trigger. Still have the 16" barrel if I want/need to change it.
