| Can you give me some recommendations for a suppressor for my RDB Defender? In light of current events I want to start thinking about what to put on my RDB, which I got strictly for home defense use. Those of you who have, what suppressor did you choose and what are your thoughts/opinions? This would be my first suppressor, so I have zero background on them. In TN also, which is a good thing! Appreciate any insights, thanks! |

Appreciate any insights, thanks! Before picking a can, decide what you value most—maximum quiet, minimum weight/length, lowest cost, durability, low backpressure, or versatility. Once you rank those, the field gets much smaller. |

I do not know how well the gas flow backs with that rifle when a can is attached. If you can afford a flow through can, that would ideal if the rifle is a tad bit on the overgas side. I have suppressed my Tavor and one of my bullpup AR15 chassis with a Ranger7 can. What I have noticed are more gasses escaping from the ejection port means you're breathing in the spent gasses. |

Also, the RDB ejects downward, so the port is a lot farther from your face than on a side ejecting bullpup. |

Most 5.56 cans are still pretty damn loud regardless. I wouldn't get too hung up on a couple dB on a spec sheet. My RDB was noticeably more ammo-sensitive with the Rugged Razor, while with no can or a Flow-type can it basically doesn't care what I feed it. So personally I'd give up a little absolute suppression for the wider reliability envelope, especially on 5.56 where none of these are really “quiet” anyway. |

My RDB wears an M4-2000. Right now it's tuned for cheap ammo. I'll revisit that at some point, but for now it's just a fun blaster. |

I alternate between a T3 and TK-RB on mine...it functions 100% both suppressed and unsuppressed 11 clicks open on the gas knob with XTAC M193. Attached File |
| I run a SilencerCo Specwar 5.56 on mine, and even though it is a high back pressure can I don't notice much gas in the face. When I have the rifle tuned to lock open on empty with the can, it will mostly cycle reliably without the can, but it definitely won't lock open. If you value the ability to run it with or without and not retune the gas system I would go with a low back pressure suppressor. |

Gen 1 turboK on mine and no issues with gas in the face. Between the 16+ gas settings, 17" barrel, and the fact that it ejects downward away from your face I see no reason for the additional weight and expense of a LBP can on the RDB other than the ability to not have to rotate the knob a couple clicks when not shooting suppresses as mentioned above. |

I ran mine with a very tightly bored 6” form 1 can. Very high back pressure. You would not even know on the RDB. The gun was quiet, the enclosed downward ejecting chamber made gas to the face, practically nonexistent, and it shot so smooth once dialed in with that long stroke action. I still think to this day it’s the best 556 gun to suppress. There’s no need for the added expense of flow through. Just get yourself the quietest standard can you can. |
