Are there threaded demist shields or just the snap on ones?

I found the Wilcox threaded amber filter that also acts as a demist shield (does anyone know if it for sure has an O ring?) This one is nice because you can add the rubber eye cup back onto it.  (whatever rubber/silicon they used to make those eyecups sure is really nice and soft but boy oh boy is it a hair magnet! are there any other ones out there that are as soft/bendable that won't collect hair?)

I will get the threaded Wilcox amber, but I don't know if I'll like the amber color over the green all of the time so I wanted to get a regular demist shield as well because I do like the green of NV.  But I do realize that green can cause some eye strain & the amber filter helps with this along with hiding your signature so I figured in true ARFCOM fashion to get both .

My occular lens is not threaded, unless its really deep right up on the lens.

So a threaded demist shield wouldn't work. I also still use the rubber eye cup with the demist shield. Haven't had any problems with hair sticking to it.
Maybe wipe it off with a dryer sheet to kill static that may be on it.

So does the standard demise shield come with an oring on the outside of it, because mine is able to rotate and does not have a o-ring to make it fit snug.

The eyepiece seems to be threaded, that's how the current eyecup is attached to it, it threads on via a threaded eyecup ring (I assume that's what it's called?).

So no O ring then?  Seems to vary or be some confusion.

I want a threaded demist with O ring if there is one.  If not I guess I will get the pop-con cap style that doesn't seem to have an O ring?

Nice tip on the dryer sheet, I will give it a try.  Should I use a new one or a used one?

the entire housing that holds the lens may be threaded but I dont think it can be taken apart (safely anyway).

you would basically have to take apart the entire pvs14 each time you wanted to take the lens off to get to the shield.

even if you did take it apart it would be hard to squish an extra lens in there. (not supposed to store it with a demist shield in also)

my rubber eye cup is a rubber press on fit (unless you are talking about the ring it slides on to.)

As for the dryer sheet, any type will work just wipe it down with a new one. Its an old reloaders trick to get rid of static electricity when dealing with ball powders that can be hard to work with.

I think we're confusing each other.  I have a male threaded eye cup that threads into the female threads on the eyepiece lens/diopter adjustment - same threads that that Wilcox threaded amber filter/demist shield would thread in to.

Why are you not supposed to store a PVS-14 with a demist shield on?  I was hoping to get one or the threaded amber filter and use it as a sacrificial lens for the eyepiece lens...

What about a threaded sacrificial lens for the objective lens, any reason these can't always be left in?

Talked to a girl at ModArmory today & apparently they do have regular, clear threaded demist shields (although they aren't in stock at the moment)

Anyone know where else there is threaded demist shields in stock?  I'm still waiting for them to get the threaded amber demist shields back in stock, but still want a clear one as a back up as well.
