Anyone have a preference for light lube on the threads - grease or oil?

I am doing an experiment with this now, running my SBR with light grease to see how it holds up compared to oil in my standard rifle. So far no issues seems to be a little bit cleaner so far than oil.

Grease is better with heat. Oil will run off when it gets hot. Grease stays put better.

I use anti-seize on my threads.

I've just ordered some, it's cheap enough and I was on Amazon anyway :-)

Neither! Use Teflon tape. It prevents any galling and keeps the can from loosening up.

Does the oil not leave a residue that would still allow it to accomplish its mission?
