| So, I want to take off the abombination called a muzzle brake on this thing, and I'm planning on putting on either a different brake, or a flash hider(when the ban expires). So does anybody know what threads are on this thing? Will FAL or HK91 brakes and hiders fit? |

Tapco sells a brake which will fit the CETME as well as the FR-8 and FR-7 Mauser-based bolt guns. Naturally, the flash-suppressor screwed onto the FRs barrels will likewise fit a CETME. Since all the FRs came with FS units attached, there was/is no market for the FS units removed from the CETMEs. Wouldn't surprise me if there were not a few pallets of these things stored away waiting for the end of the Ban. Stay tuned. And write/call your congresscritter |

Tapco does sell the bayonet lug, and the bayo. I'd buy them now before there's a "rush" and prices go up. It's a pretty cool kinfe anyway, and the bayo lug just snaps into place, replacing the non-lug cap that's on the post-ban clone. I'm pretty sure the threads are HK. Or more accurately that HK threads are CETME, as the CETME came first, before the Germans who had split to Spain after the war and desgined the CETME, returned to Germany and started ops there. Someone has all those CETME flash supps they took off when they built those rifles, so if you look around, you should be abel to find one. Ross |
