[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Three scenarios; which buffer ?

I have an Oly with a .45 ACP upper, 11.5" with permanent FH. I've SBR'd it and will have it cut to 7.5". Will a different buffer be needed? Also, I've ordered a Gemtech Blackside for it. Will this also change the need for a different buffer? The 45 upper is strictly a blowback action and the Oly lower is a standard AR lower with a CAR stock.

Since it is blow back, I wouldn't tink that a barrel length change would make any difference. It doesn't with my 9mm set up.

Thanks for that info. The buffer that came with my 45 upper actually weighed the same as one that came with a CAR stock that I bought. I just thought that the 45 buffer would weigh more.
