I have a BRN-22 in a Midwest Industries chassis that I’m planning to convert to a standard stock. I like the chassis off a bipod, but don’t care for shooting it slung, for example, for an Appleseed.

In my mind, I would probably get something like a Boyds Rimfire Hunter with the black textured paint and adjustable comb of the Pro Varmint. This is not a configuration offered on the website. The Agility stock looks nice, but over $300 with the adjustable comb, and have yet to see one in person.

The Victor Titan looks nice, seems to have good reviews, but I’ve never seen one to handle. Typically, I bed the rear of the receiver with a tapered stud, so not sure of the Titan would be conducive to this. Of course they have their proprietary anchor system.

Mostly just thinking out loud here. Appreciate any suggestions.

I have to ask about the tapered stud thing. How do you do this? I haven't handled a 10/22 in years, so I can't picture how that works.

Also, is the adjustable cheek riser a requirement? Cuz you mentioned for Appleseed. The new MOE X22 stock seems perfect. An you can always throw a stock pack on it. Was planning a Appleseed build as well, an was thinking of using it as well.

I have a trainer setup in a X22 Hunter stock. It’s not bad, but not great either. I just can’t get comfortable with the stock… not sure if it’s the plastic or what, which is part of my reservation with the Titan.

As for bedding, I drill a .250” hole in the back of the receiver concentric with the bore (similar to those drilled for cleaning rods), then countersink the outside of the hole… add a grub screw to the stock inlay concentric with the countersunk hole, then bed with epoxy putty. Inexpensive and relatively easy to do. I’ll try to find some pics.

I have a Titan stock, they are very rigid.  I also have a KRG Bravo , Magpul and a Hogue rubber over molded, all for 10/22’s.  My favorite is the KRG for bench shooting.  It has the most adjustments and is just a really nice stock.  It is a tad pricey once you add the tool-less adjustable LOP, thicker recoil pad (adds a little extra LOP) and spigot if you want that.  The KRG seems to be for kid/ small people LOP.  If you’re of average size, you will want the added length of the adjustable LOP, spacers and most likely thick recoil pad.

The Titan and Magpul stock are my next two favorites.  The Titan is more rigid than the Magpul. I want to get a MDT Oryx chassis next but they are also pricey for a 10/22.
