| I need a good dual purpose tomahawk for tactical use and field ops. What's the best that's reasonably priced and fairs well when forced into service as a light hatchet for cutting wood? Thanks! |

this would be my bet
I love my RMJ, but if I was buying something today I would probably buy this one. |

I wish they offered one with the Chogan bit and the Kangee spike. http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b489/trbrst/f5d7ed3f12026ee1d18fed5d8ddd59e5_zpse0b68c6e.jpg I actually wish they would do a Kangee bit with the hammer pole. And also wish they would stop sharpening/grinding the back of the beard. |

The sharpened beard is the most attractive feature of the Chogan, IMO. |

I despise spike hawks, I absolutely do not want a close quarters tool to be pointy on both ends. That said, unsharpening the underside of the bit shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. |

Why look for an old one?

The 22 ounce Half Hatchet by Craftsman. $10.54 before sales tax. Find a 16-18 inch handle for it that maybe costs $5. It will be half the price of a CS Rifle Hawk and US made. |
